Situated approximately 7 kilometres to the north of Brinkworth and 145 kilometres north of Adelaide, in South Australia’s Mid North region. The site is adjacent to the Brinkworth Substation and ElectraNet 275 kV transmission line.
The battery has a capacity of 300MW/1200MWh and provide up to 4 hours of energy storage for the BESS
The battery will be developed as “exempt development” as specified in the South Australian Government Gazette in April 2024.
